Slank Declaration Supports Ganjar-Mahfud, Abdee Resigns From Telkom Commissioner

Had refused to express support for one of the presidential and vice presidential candidates in the 2024 presidential election, Slank finally expressed his support for Ganjar Pranowo and Mahfud MD.

It is known that the Slank music group was formed by Bimbim on December 26, 1983 and can survive until now.

"Today we declare that Slank supports Ganjar-Mahfud," said Bimbim at Potlot Studio Kalibata, South Jakarta on Saturday, January 20.

In the declaration event, all Slank personnel and also the presidential and vice presidential candidate pair number 3, Ganjar Pranowo and Mahfud MD were attended.

On the same occasion, Abdee Negara, who previously served as Telkom Commissioner, also stated that he had sent a letter of resignation.

"Previously I wanted to disclaimer first, because there were many who asked why the commissioner was here. So that there is no lies between us, and to respect the existing regulations, so as of Friday, at 5 pm, I have sent a letter of resignation," said Abdee.

Abdee also revealed the reasons for Slank's support in this presidential election. They consider what the band based in Potlot is fighting for can be carried out by Ganjar and Mahfud.

"This is part of our struggle. We are always asked who the plans for the presidential election are, who are we going to support. Surely, we will not change, from 2014 until now, that the first is the ideals of reform must continue. Collusion, nepotism and corruption must be eliminated," said Abdee.

"Then second, we must continue to maintain democracy. And in our opinion, the most appropriate things to do are Pak Ganjar and Pak Mahfud," he said.
