Andika Advances Legislative Election 2024, Dodhy Makes Sure The Band Doesn't Disband

JAKARTA - Andika Mahesa, the vocalist of the Kangen Band, has decided to run as a Legislative Candidate (Caleg) for the DPR RI for the period 2024-2029. He fought for the legislative seat from his hometown, Lampung 1 Electoral Region (Dapil).

Dodhy, Andika's colleague in Kangen Band, said the vocalist was busy campaigning, so Kangen Band had to rest and not take the schedule for this January gig.

However, Dodhy ensured that the Kangen Band would not disband. Each member has agreed that the band will continue even though the personnel have solo activities or outside the music world.

Dodhy said, Kangen Band will return to perform after the election is over. He has also discussed plans with other Kangen Band personnel if Andika is later elected as a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives.

"Just January, after the next election (the band is a gig)," said Dodhy.

"We have talked about it. If Andika is in the DPR RI, it will work Monday to Friday. If weekends can take a job. Yes, hopefully he still wants to perform. Except for him, the Regent or the Mayor. But I don't know that there is a lot of money like this Andika still wants to not take the change, "he said.
