JAKARTA - In a recent interview with Guitar World magazine, guitarist Kiko Loureiro, who left Megadeth last September, revealed that he advised Dave Mustaine to re-cruit Marty Friedman as his successor.

However, Mustaine's choice fell into the hands of Finnish guitarist Teemu Mroomysaari after previously playing only the temporary guitarist to replace Loureiro.

"Actually, I even told management and Dave that I think bringing back Marty Friedman would be great," Kiko told Guitar World.

"I don't know if they're talking about it or talking to Marty, but I did say that. But again, I don't know any further than that, and I don't want to make things more complicated."

Loureiro continued by saying that he was warmly welcomed by Megadeth fans for nine years serving with the thrash metal band.

"The fans never say bad things about me or complain, that's amazing," he said.

But I'm a fan, and I've always understood that Marty is part of iconic albums like 'Rust In Peace' and 'Countdown To Extinction'. I understand that Marty is the one who helps create sound and style, you know?"

"Since I joined Megadeth, I know fans can show me love, but I will never win their hearts over Marty."

Friedman oversees Megadeh's main guitarist line for 10 years, from 1990 to 2000. For a decade, this curly-haired guitarist has contributed to five studio albums, namely Rust in Peace, Countdown to Extinction, Youthanasia, Cryptic Writings, and Risk plus one EP (mini album) Hidden Treasures.

Meanwhile, 36-year-old Muntysaari was born in Tampere, Finland and started playing guitar at the age of 12. In 2004, she joined the band aired and became a member of Smackbound since 2015.
