7D7D Trio Formation Of RATM Bassis Released Single Writer On A Napkin

JAKARTA - 7D7D, a project featuring bassist Rage Against The Machine, Tim Commerford with Mathias Wakrat and Jonny Polonsky, released their third single, Written On A Napkin, through Mad Bunny Records.

This trio released their debut single, Capitalism on Black Friday November 25, 2022, followed by their second single, Misinformed, on December 13, 2022.

Since then, they have worked together on new material in the studios Tim and Mathias in Los Angeles and Written On A Napkin is the first single of the session.

"Seeing that life you know is destroyed can be scary and painful, whether it's the world in general or whatever happens to you personally," Tim said of Written On a Napkin in his official statement.

"Music is the best medicine ever," he continued.

Meanwhile, Wakrat added that Written On A Napkin started with a rhythm that the team liked.

"After trying a different rhythm for the different parts, the team suggested that I play Elvin Jones' inspired rhythm for the refract part, and the team responded to the rhythm that came with a beautiful melody in the refrain," explained Warkat.

"After we had an idea of what the song would be like, we sent the file to Jonny who took the song to a different level which in turn inspired Tim to make some more changes and take us to songs like now."

Polonsky replied, "Written On a Napkin' is about change, transformation, and metamorphosis."

"And everything becomes easier with trusted friends and loved ones by your side. Be brave and great power will help you," he added.
