JAKARTA — The Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID) of Bima has officially launched the Sahabat Masyarakat untuk Harga Stabil dan Sejahtera (SAMARASA) program at Amahami Central Market in Bima City as part of efforts to strengthen inflation control by stabilizing food prices and ensuring adequate supplies.
The SAMARASA program is a collaborative initiative involving the Bima City Government, the West Nusa Tenggara provincial government, Bank Indonesia, the State Logistics Agency (Bulog), distributors and private-sector businesses.
Through the partnership, the government aims to ensure residents have access to essential commodities at stable prices with reliable supplies.
Bima Deputy Mayor Feri Sofiyan said the local government regularly conducts programs to maintain price stability, including subsidized markets and food assistance distribution across all 41 urban villages in the city.
"We routinely organize subsidized markets and food assistance programs. We have even conducted roadshows across all 41 urban villages together with Bulog," Feri said during the SAMARASA launch on Monday.
Feri also said Bulog's rice reserves remain sufficient to support market operations and subsidized market programs whenever necessary.
"Our regional secretary confirmed that Bulog's rice stock is fully prepared whenever we need to carry out market operations or subsidized markets," he said.
To support the initiative, Bank Indonesia donated a SAMARASA operational vehicle that will be used to facilitate inflation-control activities, including food distribution and market intervention programs.
Through the SAMARASA program, TPID Bima hopes efforts to maintain stable prices and secure food supplies will become more effective, helping keep regional inflation under control while improving public welfare.
The launch ceremony was attended by Bima Deputy Mayor Feri Sofiyan and West Nusa Tenggara Deputy Governor Indah Dhamayanti Putri. Following the event, the two officials inspected Amahami Central Market to monitor prices and ensure adequate supplies of essential food commodities.
