Marty Friedman's New Solo Album Will Be Dramatical

JAKARTA - During the "Metalmania III" Rock 'N' Roll Fantasy Camp last month in Los Angeles, Marty Friedman talked about his upcoming solo album.

"I have 15 solo albums right now, and every time I try to do something new and something I've never done before. I don't want to hear it sound like one of those people, 'Ah, the album was originally really good.' You know what I mean? I often say that about my favorite guitarist - unfortunately - and I never want that to be said about me. So I always challenge myself to new things," said Marty.

"This new album is about 70 years and percent finished, the closest thing to this album is an album that I titled SCenes [1992], which I released some time ago. This is very dramatic and orchestral, and there are many other types of instruments lain,men', and the like. So this is more of a dramatic orchestra concept," he continued.

"But everything I've learned since the SCenes album grew rapidly, so the scale is much bigger. So, if you like the SCenes album, I think this (album) is suitable for you."

Marty previously talked about this album last month in an interview with Chris Akin Presents.

"I've been recording my upcoming album for almost a year now. And it will be finished by the end of this year, and will be released in the spring of 2024. And well, this is ambitious. But, of course, I always say that," he said.

"But every time I have to outperform my previous assignment, this task gets crazier. And now in my opinion, the production of this album is 75 percent."
