JAKARTA - Pearl Jam drummer Matt Cameron spoke about the band's recording and band tour plans for the coming months.
During his new appearance on the podcast "The Vinyl Guide", Cameron said Pearl Jam was thinking about everything right now, But, for the album, Andrew Watt is certain to lead the recording process including the mixing and mastering sessions.
"So I think the available strength is trying to figure out when the album will be released and tours and things like that," said the drummer.
"But, yes, we're back on activity after the pandemic. We're doing some shows in 2021 and then we're doing some shows in the year 22. We're doing some kind of big tours in 2022, and we have to wear masks and the crew have to wear masks, and we have to do a test and it's not fun," he continued.
"We went through it well, and the audience was amazing. But we did just a bit of a show last September, and it was like going back to the past, normal. Unfortunately I contracted COVID during that tour. But I think in general, the tour industry is back to normal."

Last September, guitarist Mike McCready praised Watt, multi-Gr Cup winner producer who has worked with Dua Lipa, Post Malone and Justin Bieber, as well as Ozzy Osbourne, Eddie Vedder and The Rolling Stones.
"Andrew Watt gives us good energy and youth and ears that we think we need. He's like kicking our buttocks a little bit. Like, 'OK, come on, come on, let's go, let's go!' He's the most hyper man I've ever met other than myself. But he's a big fan of our band, and he's also a guitar player who likes to smoke. He took us into a room and pushed us as hard as he could," McCready told Guitar World magazine.
"You know, it's hard for outsiders who don't have a quote to come to our world because we've done things in a certain way. We're open to new things, but we're also in our own world. We've been doing a lot for 30 years. So we know the dynamics of our band very well. But sometimes we need to be encouraged and questioned, and Andrew did his job well," concluded the guitarist.
