Linkin Park Sued By Ex Bassist Regarding EP Hybrid Theory

Bassist Kyle Christner filed a lawsuit against Linkin Park, claiming that he did not receive credit or royalties from the 1999 Hybrid Theory EP (mini album) in which he was involved.

In a lawsuit filed at the US District Court for the California Central District on Wednesday (November), Christner called himself a "former Linkin Park member" who "collaborated and recorded many songs with the band".

He said the box set edition of Linkin Park's studio album Hybrid Theory, which is available in 2020, contains "many songs" of which she is a "joint creator", including Could Have Been, a song that has never been released before in any form and is now watched nearly a million times on YouTube.

According to Christner, he "never paid a penny for his work with Linkin Park, and he was also not awarded a decent award, even when [his former bandmate] benefited from his creative efforts."

Kyle's lawsuit, first reported by Bloomberg Law and Rolling Stone, alleges that his name was "deleted" from the EP Hybrid Theory when it was republished in 2001 as a "fan club edition".

He also claimed that the Hybrid Theory 20th anniversary box set mentioned above includes the issuance of the original EP.

"Although Christner once got the wrong impression that his bass part was re-recorded in the EP after he left the band, he, after being examined more closely, identified his bass game in the EP edition included in the box set," the lawsuit reads.

The box set, which did not award Christner for his work at the EP, includes, among other things, rare and unreleased songs in three collections ( served as compact disks in physical editions) each entitled Forgotten Demos, B-Sides Rarities, and LPU Rarities.

Christner said he performed a lot in this footage, such as the Could Have Been demo, a song released for the first time in connection with the box set.
