JAKARTA - Iron Maiden drummer Nicko McBrain revealed he almost fully recovered after suffering a minor stroke in January which left him partially paralyzed on his right.

While appearing on the Trunk Nation Power Trip Special SiriusXM, as described by Blabbermouth, the 70-year-old musician said he was 85 to 90 percent returning to full force but was still experiencing difficulties with speed and radius dexterity.

McBrain also discussed the ongoing 'Future Past' World Tour, which marks their first live show since the release of the Sen televisi album in 2021. Tur is going well," McBrain said.

"Initially a little shaky for me, but over time and the more shows we show, I started to get a little bit more strength and they really performed well. And in the last few months it's been really amazing.."

McBrain admits that he has to adjust his drum playing technique to accommodate his physical limitations, even changing some of the famous fills in certain songs.

"Some song fillers who everyone knows me on certain songs, I have to improvise them during training so I can really play the song," he said. But I definitely get stronger.

Not to forget, McBrain praised his manager, bandmates, and band fans for their support and love during his recovery process.

"They really showed so much love to me, it was amazing," he concluded.

The McBrain stroke came after he was diagnosed with stage 1 run-away cancer in 2020, which was immediately surgically removed.
