This Is Budi Doremi's Statement After Accusing His Songs For Caitlin Halderman Plagiarism

JAKARTA - Budi Doremi made an open letter after the accusation emerged that his song composed by Caitlin Halderman, Listening to Pintaku, was the result of plagiarism.

It is known that there was a accusation saying the song, which was released on October 13, plagiarized a song from Keleham (Farham Zamzam) entitled Impossible, released in 2021.

Through his official Instagram account, Budi Doremi felt disturbed because he was said to have plagiarized other people's works.

"I made this open letter for the noise that is currently happening in connection with the release of the song Listen to Pintaku sung by Caitlin Halderman on Friday, October 13, 2023 at 16.00 WIB," reads Budi Doremi's open letter, Thursday, October 19.

"The commotion has caused a number of very disturbing problems, especially for me as the owner and creator of the song," he continued.

Budi Doremi also wants to prove the truth of the accusation. He asked if it was true that he would plagiarize the original song owner to claim his copyright.

"For other parties who claim to have and feel entitled to the song, I am open to receiving information and EVIDENCE within a deadline of 1 x 24 (one time twenty-four) hours since I conveyed this Open Letter," said Budi Doremi.

Furthermore, Budi Doremi stated that he was ready to take legal steps that were deemed necessary to maintain his rights as songwriters. Listen to Pintaku.

"After the deadline, if there are claims without valid evidence or let alone publish this song (before the release date of the song Caitlin above) without my permission, I will not hesitate to take legal steps in accordance with applicable regulations," concluded Budi Doremi.
