There Are 6 New Categories At The 2023 AMI Awards, Here's The Explanation

The 2023 AMI Awards present six new categories that have been announced some time ago through their official Instagram account.

Syaharani, who represented the AMI Category Session Team, also welcomed the presence of the six new categories.

In a press conference held at Plaza Senayan, Central Jakarta on Thursday, September 21, Syaharani expressed her gratitude for being given the freedom to present a new category.

"Thank you to Mas Chandra and AMI Awards as well, for giving flexibility from year to year there is a development of the genre together with the sub. So, what is appreciated can be embraced and more and more," said Syaharani.

Then, Syaharani explained the six new categories. He said the six categories had actually been submitted for a long time, but not many works could be assessed.

From a few years ago we had submitted, but indeed there are not many quotas for his works. So, there are fewer orchestrals, but now there are more and more. This is a sign that the development of music is getting better," said Syaharani about the category of Best Orchestral Work.

Apart from Best Orchestral Works, there are also categories of Best Scoring Albums, Best Musical Albums and Best Alternative Albums.

"We agree that the development of Indonesian films goes hand in hand with the development of Indonesian music," said Syaharani about the category of Best Scoring Album.

There is Best Musical Album. This musical discipline includes many bamgets including makeup artists and all kinds of things. This is one of the things AMI Awards embraces," he continued.

There are also works that were previously just ordinary, now there is the Best Alternative Album. More and more alternatives have been made. Now the number has started to compete with pop," said Syaharani again.

Meanwhile, two other new categories are dedicated to the rapid development of Koplo and Malay music in recent years.

"On the other hand, for dangdut friends, there are Solo Male/Female Artists/Duo/Group/Best Koplo Collaboration. So, there are more that make with the hope that production and quality will be better. That is what is expected with this award," said Syaharani.

Then, there is also the Best Male/Female Solo Artist/Duo/Group/Best Malay Collaboration. For Malay, that is one of the cores of Indonesian music. I'm really happy with Malay," he added.
