Jakarta Philharmonic Choir Becomes A Place For Children To Find Interests And Potential Music

JAKARTA - Jakarta Philharmonic Choir (JPC), a choir group consisting of children and adolescents, formed by Jakarta caregivers Philharmonic Orchestra (JPO), held its first concert at the H. Usmar Ismail Film Building, South Jakarta on Saturday, September 16.

Meanwhile, the JPC inaugural concert was held after the children and teenagers underwent training for more than a year, since April 2022.

Aristotle Leonardo became one of the teenagers who joined the JPC. 15 years old, Isto, his nickname, joined JPC from the start, after passing the first batch audition.

Isto's appearance that night was also witnessed by his parents, Alex Leonardo Rumbi and Agnes Anette. You can see the happy look radiated from the faces of Isto's parents.

"Children have an extraordinary struggle, especially when they have to struggle with the current conditions. They have to maintain stamina, they also have to concentrate on exams at school. So, they have to be disciplined and smart to divide the time," said Agnes Anette when met after the JPC inaugural concert.

Since joining JPC, Isto admits that he is increasingly interested in music. He wants to develop his potential in music.

"I love music and want to develop myself in music, and there is a possibility that music will become my dream," said Isto.

Not only joining JPC, Isto, who aspires to become a musician, also takes courses elsewhere to hone his skills. Since joining JPC, Isto is said to be increasingly interested in music.

Anette also stated that she and her husband fully support Isto to continue to develop her potential to become a musician.

"I am proud (Isto wants to be a musician). Because dreams must come from personal passion. What we like and love will definitely be something extraordinary," said Agnes Anette.

"For example, if the child's aspirations because of the influence of parents are usually lacking. But if it's from his hobby or passion, our job is only to support and support as much as possible," concluded Anette.

For information, JPC was founded in April 2022 by Jakarta caregivers Philharmonic Orchestra (JPO), Neneng Rahardja, Aminoto Kosin and Sukanty Sidharta.

JPC is an independent choir community that without relying on JPO. JPC currently focuses on being a community of children and youth choir whose members are stretched from elementary to college students.

JPC has a mission to educate, teach and equip the younger generation to get to know, learn and love music, especially the choir. Therefore, JPC members develop skills in various music streams, not only focusing on songs in the classic music genre.
