Noel Gallagher Tells The Story Of His Friendship With Bono: I Really Love Him

JAKARTA - Noel Gallagher revealed his friendship with Bono, and recalled when he and Bruce Springsteen joked to make him look bad by sending him a selfie.

The comment was made by former Oasis member during a recent interview with shuffle (via Sunday World), ahead of his performance with the High Flying Birds in Dublin on Saturday, August 26.

Leading to discussions about his friendship with U2 vocalist Noel started by reflecting on his meeting with another rock legend, Bruce Springsteen.

According to the musician, he met The Boss coincidentally when the two were in Ibiza and ended up spending the afternoon together.

"Bruce is an amazing guy and I was lucky enough to meet him a few years ago," he told shuffle.

"I had lunch with him and his wife. There were some of us, we were all at Ibiza and randomly met each other and we all ended up spending the afternoon together...and he was an amazing guy," he added.

"I wouldn't say I'm a big fan of Bruce Springsteen, but I have great respect for him. He's great, like a kid who likes music."

He continued, they finally decided to make fun of Bono's fear of being left behind by sending him a photo of the moment.

We sat at this long table, we drank some bottles of wine and food everywhere and we took selfies of each other and [Springsteen] said, 'Should we damage Bono day?' And we sent him the selfie photo, "recalled Noel.

Noel also described Bono as one of his dear friends, and explained what it was like to tour with U2.

"He's got a lot of flaws, but I love him so much," he said. "I've been touring with him and do you know what's amazing about U2? When a band reaches that level, usually your entire operation is run by Americans. U2 operations are entirely run by the Irish. It's like a mass exodus when they go on tour. It looks like there's an exodus that's bigger than when it's starving."

"The number is hundreds," he added. There are about 300 Irish people who take part in the tour, it's really hard to believe.

"Look, I've been on tour with them for most of the year and I've just recovered. It's really fun, they're great people and I love them so much".
