JAKARTA - As a senior figure in Indonesian electronic music, Winky Wiryawan invited young producers to show his potential at the Electronic Music Producer Contest (EMPC).

Through this event, young producers are expected to seize the opportunity to appear and be heard in even bigger performances.

Winky Wiryawan, who will be the judge of EMPC, said that Indonesia has never run out of young talents about electronic music. However, not many of them had the opportunity to penetrate a wider market.

"In today's electronic music industry, to be honest the opportunity to get level up is not easy. But with the Electronic Music Producer Contest (EMPC), we have a very helpful platform to highlight young talents with their extraordinary work," said Winky Wiryawan in an official statement received by VOI, Tuesday, August 29.

He said one of the important values given by EMPC was helping selected young producers to release their musical works with international music labels.

Meanwhile, in this fifth season, EMPC collaborated with a Dutch label founded by Martin Garrix, namely, STMPD RCRDS.

"EMPC is still the most consistent medium for electronic music producers and the results are always good. Now it's in the fifth year, and EMPC is still looking for new talents. For me this is very positive and very helpful for the development of electronic music in Indonesia," he said.

Winky also hopes that young electronic music producers will dare to compete and show their musical works in this event.

Regarding the criteria for works that the judges have the opportunity to look at. One of them is a work made with its own character and not just following the trend.

'Try to make different kind of music. Don't just follow that or just follow the hits, create your own legacy. You have to be different and don't be afraid to be different," said Winky.

SIHK, who is also a judge at EMPC 2023, agrees with Winky. He underlined the important role of EMPC in finding new talents in the world of electronic music and orbiting them to the wider public.

"Following EMPC is one way so that your track music can be heard by many people. This is a very good opportunity for you young producers to start a career," said SIHK.

Besides Winky Wiryawan and SIHK, EMPC also presented Steven Hiemstra and Quirijn Smits as A&R managers from STMPD.

Currently, the EMPC 2023 registration stage has been opened, starting from August 14 to September 9. Prospective participants are required to remix the song higher from VLUARR on the website www.iceperience.id.
