Rocket Alien Child Launches Into Pop Music Galaxies

After launching their new era opener single titled Starburst in March, Bali duo Alien Child opened wide of their latest musicality curtain with the release of a long album called Rocket.

Described by Alien Child as their "coming-of-age" album, Rocket presents dance-pop music DNA which has been their hallmark since Takeoff's first long album, which was released five years ago.

This album also emits other genre variations such as hip hop, electropop, nu-dasco, R&B, and even country. As a result, it is not excessive to conclude this Rocket album is Alien Child's most ambitious material (so far).

"This album is something we are slowly doing, but with great concern. The pandemic situation has also affected the pace of the work on this album, but, in the end, this Rocket album was successfully born from our growing insights and experiences," Alien Child said in an official statement.

Alien Child also glanced at several unique references as inspiration for their latest album; left-wing musicians such as Tyler, The Creator, Flume, BroCKHAMPTON, and Rosalia. They are also determined to confirm Rocket's album as a dance-pop album that is more than just normative.

The hip hop music element, especially, is a common thread that brings together the entire production of the eight tracks that composed this Rocket album. Of course, producing authentic and futuristic musical works has also become Alien Child's vision and mission.

"We really like how hip hop music always emphasizes honesty," continued Alien Child. " hip hop music never runs out of stories, and all these stories always come from hip hop souls which are very authentic and what they are."

"For example, hip hop musicians like BROCKHAMPTON and their songs entitled 'Sweet' can actually feel very touching in the heart. We also want this Rocket album to summarize the entire emotion: joyful, romantic, political, depressing, expressive, as well as emotional."

The duo, fronted by the couple, Lala Maranda and Aya Maranda, will go to Canada to continue their education. However, make no mistake, Alien Child will continue to work, wherever they are.

"It's like, we changed the kitchen, but we will continue to 'cheat' our work," said Alien Child.

"We're no longer teenage musicians. We've grown up, and that means it's time for us to be more serious about our musical careers. Differences in time and distance will not stop our steps. On the contrary: Alien Child's journey and adventures have just begun."
