Spulk is tasked with producing electricity when the engine rotates. If the generated power is insufficient, then the kiprok cannot work optimally and the electricity to the lights is disrupted.

Troubled Cables

A loose, peeling, or short electricity cable can block the electricity to the lights. Likewise, a light switch that is already worn or damaged will make the lights unable to turn on even if the other components function properly.
