JAKARTA - Can-Am, a leading ATV manufacturer that is a subsidiary of Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP) in Canada, has released its first two electric motors, namely Pulse and Origin and can now be booked at several dealers across Europe.
In addition to the pre-order opening, Can-Am has also released attractive specifications and features of the two electric motor models.
"Today, we are reviving our two-wheeled legacy by bringing new excitement to the electric motor industry. 50 years ago, Can-Am celebrated many victories with its Track'n Trail bike, and we are bringing back that pedigree with a focus on modern electric power, connectivity, and sensations. We intend to become a global leader in this area with true innovation designed to simplify the driving experience for new motorists and introduce electric motors to all," said BRP President and CEOprinciple Boisjoli, quoted from Visordown, Thursday, August 22.
Pulse is an electric motorcycle with an elegant design and is suitable for urban use or out-of-town roads. Equipped with a KYB suspension with 140mm travel, Pulse offers four driving modes: Normal, Sport, ECO, and Rain.
Origin, as a light adventurer motor, comes with dual sports tires, higher ground clearance, and KYB suspension complete with 255mm travel in front and adjustable arrangements behind. The bike also has Off-Road and Off-Road+ modes, which are claimed to reduce traction control interventions and ABS.
Both motors use an 8.9kWh battery which is claimed to provide a distance of up to 100 miles (160 km) for Pulse and 90 miles (145 km) for Origin in urban use. Both are powered by an 11kW (15bhp) electric motor capable of driving Pulse from 0-60 mph within 3.8 seconds.
For the price, the UK Can-Am Pulse is priced at 14,899 pounds, equivalent to Rp302 million, while Can-Am Origin is sold for 15,399 pounds, equivalent to Rp312 million.
