JAKARTA - The motorcycle with the adventurer style Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin Adventure Sports ES model 2024 now greets the Malaysian market with several updates.

Reporting from Paultan, Tuesday, June 18, one of the changes brought to the motorbike is the position of a more ergonomic rider with 15 mm thicker urethane seat foam, increasing comfort when occupying it. In addition, the seating height can also be adjusted between 820 mm and 840 mm without using the tool.

Then, the Africa Twin front fairing also gets a refresher for better protection with a rearview that can be reorganized. This minimizes wind gusts and increases the comfort of motorists on long trips.

The legs are equipped with twin disc brakes with a diameter of 310 mm caliber four pistons on the front with a 19-inch rim and a single disk with one piston on the back along with an 18-inch rim.

To optimize the braking system, this motor is also equipped with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) at both ends of its wheels and mitigate rear wheels as standard.

The Japanese manufacturer also provided a reliable suspension of Showa Electronicly Equipped Ride Adjustment as a standard with a front and rear travel suspension measuring 200 mm. In order to accommodate better driving, four suspension modes were presented, namely Soft, Mid, Hard, and Off-Road.

The electronic circuit on the Africa Twin is equipped with a six-axis IMU and a thrust ride-by-wire. This allows four levels of power distribution and three levels of braking on the engine. The Honda Selectable Track Control (HSTC) comes with seven levels of intervention as well as an 'Off' option to drive off-road.

Another advanced technology on this bike is Wheelie Control which is offered at three levels. Level 1 is for motorists who prefer to save the life of their front tires by keeping the front wheels from touching the ground.

Then, Level 2 provides a slight lift and Level 3 prevents all types of front wheels from lifting.

In the driver's position, also a 6.5-inch TFT touch-screen Multi-Information Display (MID) screen that can be connected to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, provides smooth integration with the driver's cellphone.

Speaking of performance, the Africa Twin has an engine of 1,084 cc cooled parallel-twin liquid which provides an increase in torque of up to 7 percent which is claimed to have 102 dk of power at 7,500 rpm and 112 Nm at 5,500 chrom.

The six acceleration dual-clutch (DCT) transmission system is also improved, providing a sense of more natural dental change. There are three gyrboks modes with 'MT' for manual gear displacement using the handlebar switch.

Meanwhile, 'D' for driving in cities and highways, with full automatic operation and maximum fuel efficiency. Then the 'S' mode with three levels makes engine spins slightly higher before dental displacements upwards and when gearing downwards is faster when braking.

Offered in two colors, namely Mat Ballistic Black Metallic and Pearl Glare White, the Honda Africa Twin is priced at 119,388 ringgit (around Rp415.8 million) and will be available on the Boon Siew Honda BigWing dealer network starting June 19.

CRF1100L Africa Twin Adventure Sports is also sold at Indonesia by Astra Honda Motor (AHM) with a price tag starting at IDR 620.7 million for manual and DCT types worth IDR 659.8 million on The Road DKI Jakarta.
