Yamaha Answers The Issue Of Launching Electric Motorcycles In Indonesia

JAKARTA - Various electric motorbikes have launched in Indonesia, even one of the leading Japanese manufacturers, namely Honda, has prepared the ev model, to get subsidies or government assistance.

Of course not a few have asked when Yamaha will launch an electric motorbike in the country? Because previously they had introduced E01 and Neo's electric motorcycles.

"Currently, it is still in the research and study stage for consumers, in the Medan area it has not been completed and completed in February next year," said Antonius Widiantoro as Asst. General Manager of Marketing & Public Relations of PT Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing (YIMM), when met in Bogor, West Java, Saturday, December 9.

As is known so far, Yamaha is still running the Proof of Concept (POC) project, to measure the extent to which the electric motor is ready to be marketed in Indonesia on the E01 model.

In the project, Yamaha targets for one year with 4 thousand people trying out electric motorbikes. Through this study, Yamaha received data about the price range and what consumers expect.

"If so far Yamaha E01 has received a fairly positive response because of its performance, ease of charging, handling, and this will be our evaluation material," he added.

Yamaha E01 does have convenience in terms of charging, where this Japanese brand presents three charging options, namely Fast Charger, Normal Charger, and also Portable Charger.

"We study which consumers want, and will make evaluation materials in the future," he explained.

He is also reluctant to provide predictions on the price of electric motors from Yamaha. Because the unit is also still limited and has not been sold and is still being produced directly in Japan.

"Back again, this has not been sold, we will make all research for evaluation materials, including consumer character," he concluded.
