PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) or Pelindo has prepared a new Local Pride Spot outlet at the Tanjung Priok Passenger Terminal in early March 2025, to support the growth of micro-enterprises in Indonesia.
"The plan to open Local Pride Spot at the Tanjung Priok Passenger Terminal is one of the company's efforts to support the growth of micro and small enterprises (UMK) in Indonesia," said Pelindo President Director Arif Suhartono in a statement in Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, January 29.
He said the outlets were the expansion of the first Local Pride Spot which has been operating in Pelindo Tower, North Jakarta since March 2024.
According to him, Local Pride Spot is designed to provide wider market access for fostered UMKs, so they can compete at the national level.
"This outlet is also a means for local entrepreneurs to expand their market reach and increase sales," he also said.
As part of efforts to expand the promotion of Local Pride Spot, Pelindo has also organized SME Expo Local Pride Spot on 22-25 January 2025 at Pelindo Forum, Ciawi, Bogor. The exhibition carries the concept of one-stop shopping, with visitors being able to shop for various necessities in one location.
The exhibition received the attention of various parties, including Deputy Minister of BUMN Kartika Wirjoatmodjo, Special Staff of the Ministry of SOEs Arya Sinulingga, President Commissioner of Pelindo Agus Suhartono, and President Director of Pelindo Arif Suhartono, who also visited the MSME outlet.
Pelindo Tower's first Local Pride Spot outlet has shown a positive achievement. Since March 2024 until now, the outlet has managed to record a transaction worth IDR 1 billion.
"This figure proves the high public interest in quality local products," said Arif.
Local Pride Spot presents a variety of superior products, such as traditional fabrics, ethnic jewelry, special culinary delights, to daily needs. All products offered have gone through rigorous selection to ensure quality and competitiveness according to national standards.
