JAKARTA - Jetour is getting closer to bringing their latest SUV to the Indonesian market through the Jetour T1 i-DM. The urban adventure-style model has been introduced to the media crew, before the official launch to Indonesian consumers.
VOI.id's editorial staff also had the opportunity to get to know the adventure SUV that has plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) technology and intelligent dual mode (i-DM) system. In terms of design, the Jetour T1 i-DM comes with a boxy SUV character that is currently a global trend.
The silhouette of the body looks sturdy and muscular, combined with a modern touch that strengthens the impression as an adventurous vehicle. At the front, this SUV carries a horizon light bar grille with modern lighting animation that gives a distinctive visual identity.
Safety aspects also received attention through the use of non-metallic materials on the front and rear bumpers which are designed to help reduce the impact of collisions on pedestrians. The appearance is even more imposing thanks to the use of 235/60-sized tires combined with 19-inch rims, thus supporting vehicle stability in various road conditions.
For the size of an intermediate SUV, the dimensions of the Jetour T1 i-DM are quite large. This car has a length of 4,705 mm, a width of 1,967 mm, a height of 1,840 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,800 mm which promises spacious cabin space for passengers.
Entering the cabin, you will be greeted by a 15.6-inch touch screen powered by the Snapdragon 8155 processor and Tour 2.0 OS operating system. Meanwhile, the 10.25-inch digital instrument panel presents various driving information clearly and easily monitored.
Comfort is further enhanced through the presence of a panoramic skyroof that provides a sense of relief during the journey. In addition, there are up to 45 storage spaces designed to support daily needs and long-distance travel activities.
Marketing Director of PT Jetour Sales Indonesia Moch Ranggy Radiansyah, assessed that the Jetour T1 i-DM character is very suitable for the needs of Indonesian consumers who have high mobility and like to explore various destinations.
"Jetour sees the current consumer needs continue to evolve towards vehicles that not only have a strong design, but are also able to deliver a smarter, more efficient, and comfortable driving experience for various modern lifestyles," said Ranggy in an official statement.
"We believe that the Jetour T1 will be one of the important steps in bringing global innovation and in the near future we will officially introduce this model in Indonesia," he continued.
The Jetour T1 i-DM will occupy the light off-road SUV segment and complement Jetour's product lineup that has been marketed in Indonesia, such as Dashing, X70 Plus, and T2. One of the main attractions of this model is the use of Intelligent Dual Mode (i-DM) technology which marks Jetour's seriousness in entering the electrification era.
The system combines the fifth generation Acteco 1.5 TGDI engine with an electric motor that was initially designed to work integrally, not just combining a conventional engine with an electrification system.
Jetour claims that the gasoline engine is capable of producing 136 PS of power and 220 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the electric motor contributes up to 240 PS of power with 310 Nm of torque, promising an optimal combination of performance and efficiency.
As an energy source, the Jetour T1 i-DM uses lithium ferro phosphate (LFP) batteries known to have a high level of stability and more heat resistant. This technology also supports fast charging, where the charging process from 30 percent to 80 percent only takes about 27 minutes using a DC fast charging facility.
Charging from 30 percent to full takes about 180 minutes via AC charging. The battery has also bagged IP68 certification, which indicates protection against dust and water, while providing better durability when faced with various road and weather conditions.
Although a number of key specifications have been revealed, Jetour is still keeping the official launch date and the price that will be charged for the T1 a secret. However, the Chinese manufacturer ensures that the Jetour T1 i-DM will start greeting the Indonesian public in June 2026.
