JAKARTA Xpeng officially launched the G6 facelift in Malaysia through its single distributor, Bermaz Xpeng. This time the electric SUV is present in three variants, adding one option compared to the previous model.
Reporting from Paultan, Wednesday, October 1, all G6 facelift variants are still fully imported (CBU) from China, just like the pre-facelift model. However, now there are a number of interesting changes both in terms of technical and design.
Following the strategy in Thailand, G6 facelifts are offered in the RWD Long Range Pro and AWD Performance versions. Prices are opened from 179,708 ringgit (around Rp711 million) to 190,708 ringgit (Rp758 million) for the highest variant.
This latest model still uses the SEPA 2.0 platform with an 800-volt electrical architecture. However, what distinguishes is the use of 80.8 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries across all variants as standard.
Previously, LFP batteries were only available in the Standard Range 2WD variant with a capacity of 66 kWh, while 2WD Long Range relied on 87.5 kWh of NMC batteries. The change in battery technology made the Long Range Pro reach slightly decrease to 525 km (WLTP), compared to the old model which reached 570 km.
Even so, performance is maintained. RWD Long Range Pro produces 296 PS (larger than its predecessor 259 PS), with a torque of 440 Nm. Acceleration of 0100 km/hour was recorded at 6.7 seconds, slightly slower than the old (6.2 seconds) model, but the maximum speed increased to 202 km/hour.
Meanwhile, the new AWD Performance variant presents a double motorcycle system for the first time. In addition to the rear motorbike belonging to the Long Range Pro, there are additional motorbikes at the front with 190 PS power and 220 Nm torque. As a result, the total system output jumped to 487 PS with a torque of 660 Nm.
