Here's The Retro Austin Arrow Roadster: Small, Gesit, And Electricity

JAKARTA - British automotive manufacturer who had died from suri, Austin Motor Company, got back up by launching its first all-electric roadster, Austin Arrow. This tiny retro-style car promises the pleasure of driving even though it is only powered by a 20bhp electric motor.

Referring to the AutoExpress report, Tuesday, September 8, Austin Arrow's first shipment has started. The two-seater car is available in the right-handed steering version for the UK market and a left-handed steering wheel for markets such as the United States and the Middle East. In the UK, the car is priced from 31,000 pounds equivalent to IDR 692 million, slightly more expensive than the lowest-variant Mazda MX-5.

Austin Arrow meets the L7e quadricycle regulation in the UK, similar to Citroen Ami. This car is equipped with a 20 kWh battery that flows power to the back electric motor with a capacity of 20 bhp. Even though the power is small, the weight of which is only 605 kg allows this car to accelerate from 0-60 mph (about 96 km/hour) in less than eight seconds. The battery has a range of 161 km and can be fully charged in about three hours.

The Arrow design was deliberately created in memory of the original Austin Seven from 1922, which can be seen from its tiny dimensions: 3.7 meters long, 1.5 meters wide, and 1.2 meters high. Other details that reinforce retro impressions include wire rims, open cockpits with low-door thresholds, and even leaf spring suspensions.

According to Austin Motor Company CEO Nigel Gordon-Stewart, Arrow is a very agile car and has a handle like a real sports car.

"This car is amazing, very stylish, elegant, fun, and able to attract attention!" he said.

Gordon-Stewart himself has previously worked at Lamborghini, MG, TVR, and Zenvo, he also stated that Arrow is just a new start for Austin Motor Company Ltd., and there will be other interesting models ready to launch.
