JAKARTA - Volvo will soon launch its first electric sedan called ES90 globally. This car is said to be equipped with some advanced technology and optimal travel distance.

Volvo Cars Chief Engineering and Technology Officer Anders Bell said the top electric sedan would be built on the platform with a voltage of 800V while describing future technology from the Volvo line.

"Our 800V technology marks another significant technological upgrade for our customers in line with our efforts towards full electrification," Bell was quoted as saying on Volvo's official website, Thursday, February 27.

This 800V system will memotori any electrical system from this car, including battery cells, e-motors, inverters, charging, and climate and thermal systems.

According to the manufacturer, a higher voltage system will provide greater power distribution and the same range of currents as the 400V system. This approach generates less heat, meaning your battery can be charged faster up to 350kW without burdening the electricity system excessively.

In this system, there are also e-motors with lighter weights that contribute to the overall weight of the car. It also increases system efficiency, while increasing car acceleration and driving range.

Thanks to this system, Volvo ES90 is claimed to be able to charge from 10 to 80 percent in just 20 minutes or different from other platforms that take 30 minutes.

Its performance is assisted by adaptive charging software from Breach Battery Technologies, a company invested by manufacturers through the Volvo Cars Tech Fund.

The latest sedan dapt Volvo is claimed to have an all-wheel drive driver combined with a dual electric motor and a 106 kWh battery, which provides a distance of up to 700 km according to the WLTP cycle.
