JAKARTA - The Great Wall Motor (GWM) strengthens its renewable energy vehicle line (New Energy Vehicle) by opening an order for the 500 Hi4-Z Tank model at home.

The Baoding-based manufacturer, China, revealed that the large-dimensional SUV has a Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV) system that is more capable than before. Then, what sets it apart from other types?

Launching from CarNewsChina, Thursday, December 5, the existing system on Hi4-Z is claimed to have a number of advantages ranging from the division of three power accelerations in the front wheels, the damping of two accelerations in the rear doubles, and a larger battery reservoir of 59.05 kWh installed in the middle.

According to the manufacturer, this is designed to take into account power consumption while off-road and complete it via Power Shunt technology along with setting up some teeth in the front and rear doubles to address torque needs in certain situations.

The car has an axle resembling the DeDion on the electric version of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class. Thus, this allows the 500 Hi4-Z Tank to have a higher travel for the back suspension and guarantees ground clearance for electric drive.

This car carries the latest existing Miller-cycle E20NB engine on the Hi4-T type. It provides maximum data up to 185 kW and peak torques reaching 380 Nm combined with three hybrid longitudinal accelerations.

In collaboration with the front electric motor with a magnitude of 215 kW and a torque of 400 Nm and the back powered by 240 kW and 415 Nm, the GWM Tank 500 Hi4-Z has a total output of up to 645 kW and a torque of 1,195 Nm. Thus, the car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/hour within 4.6 seconds.

The 500 Hi4-Z tank has a battery of up to 59.05 which is enough to make it run with pure power up to 201 km according to the WLTC with a combined range of up to 1,096 km.

The car has now entered its pre-order period with a price set at 379,800 yuan or equivalent to Rp. 831 million.
