JAKARTA - BMW is one of the busiest automotive manufacturers in preparing its newest vehicle. Some time ago, this German brand was seen testing several models based on the latest Neue Classe concept.

Now, this automotive manufacturer is seen testing a model that is thought to be purely electric-powered (EV) Series-3 and is expected to be ready to compete with the next-generation Mercedes-Benz CLA for 2026.

Autocar reported on Thursday, November 14, the prototype was seen passing by with a camouflage suit with a more different design. BMW retains the latest kidney grip typical of radar and cameras embedded at the front in order to facilitate the next generation of ADAS systems.

In addition, the front of this car has been slightly smoothed with the introduction of a wider lower bumper.

Then, BMW also redesigned the back which is different from the concept. The lower Splitter has been replaced with a conventional bumper with a circle-shaped brake light replaced with a large LED bar.

Unfortunately, the catch of the spy only succeeded in photographing the exterior. However, it is estimated that the interior will not be much different from the Neue Classe concept with a minimalist theme and more advanced technology.

Thus, the cabin will be equipped with a large center touch screen with minimal physical buttons, a haptic steering wheel control, and a wide head-up display.

BMW has yet to confirm the full specifications of this new electric sedan, but the Neue Classe platform will be equipped with 800V electric hardware to allow it to offset EVs with the fastest charging on sale.

Meanwhile, manufacturers claim Neue Classe will have more battery at 20 percent of the energy compared to what is currently being offered.

Like Series-4 and Series-5, the next-generation Series-3 will be offered with EVs and ICE while strengthening brand commitments in offering flexible drivers across its ranks.
