JAKARTA - Suzuki officially introduced its first mass production electric car (BEV) called eVitara. The SUV is built from the concept of eVX which debuted at the Auto Expo event in India in early 2023.

Carrying the design language Emotional Versatile Cruiser, the car has a display incorporating advanced technology, strength, and presents the experience of powerful driving typical of BEV.

The identification of eVitara is an important milestone in achieving carbon neutrality. After its launch, we will continue to expand our BEV lineup and propose mobility solutions that are tailored to the needs of certain countries and regions," said Suzuki Global President Toshihiro Suzuki on the manufacturer's official website, Tuesday, November 5.

The exterior of this car features a striking design marked by large diameter tires with long wheelbases.

Moving to the interior, it features a screen that is interconnected with advanced equipment and panels as well as a sturdy center console as well as reflecting High-Tech & Adventure.

The car is powered by eAxle that connects motors and inverters, in collaboration with advanced lithium iron-phosphate batteries. This technology is known to have agile acceleration from stationary and sharp acceleration when overtaking from low to high speeds.

This manufacturer from Japan provides powertrain variants in three types, namely 106 kW and 128 kW with 189 Nm torques with two-wheeled (2WD) and 135 kW with a peak torque of 300 Nm driven 4WD Allgrip-e.

This is assisted by a choice of 49 kWh of batteries and 61 kWh of eVitara. Although the manufacturer does not disclose its travel distance, it is estimated that this SUV has a range of up to 400 km in a single charge.

Suzuki intends to sell eVitara in several markets starting in the summer of 2025, including Europe, India, and Japan.
