Jane Bunda And Roger Vadim's 275 GTB Ferrari Sold For IDR 40.7 Billion

JAKARTA - The 1966 Ferrari 275 GTB classic car owned by celebrity couple Roger Vadim and Jane Bunda is being sold privately by the RM Sotheby's auction hall. This sports car has an interesting history and has been part of the glamorous life of the Hollywood celebrity couple.

The Ferrari 275 GTB with chassis number 08641 was purchased by Roger Vadim on June 15, 1966. This car has the color of Azzuro with the interior ofEAR skin. As the final production car, 275 GTB is equipped with a long body, tube torque transmission, and three Weber carburotors.

Launching information on the RM Sotheby's page, October 28, the couple Vadim and Londa were often seen with this car on various occasions, including while on vacation in Saint-Tropez in 1966. This car also witnessed the silentness of their private moments, such as when Fonda left the hospital after giving birth to their daughter, Vanessa, in 1968.

Once owned by Vadim and Londa, the car changed hands several times. In 1968, the car was sold to a collector in Lyon who then made several modifications. In 1980, the car was owned by Michel Ferry, director of Socié des Bains de Mer at Monaco.

After changing hands several more times, this car was finally fully restored in the last five years to return it to its original condition. This car has obtained a Ferrari Classice certification, which ensures the authenticity of its chassis, engine, and transmission.

This Ferrari 275 GTB is expected to be sold for around 2.4 million euros, equivalent to IDR 40.7 billion.

The Ferrari 275 GTB was designed by Carrozzeria Scaglietti (the Italian car design and manufacture company that was active in the 1950s.

GTB is a replacement for 250 GT Berlinetta Lusso and marks a new era for Ferrari, becoming the first highway car with an independent rear suspension and a new five-speed transaxle that provides a better weight distribution. 275 GTBs have a 3-liter 60$V12 engine developed from a 112-liter Colombo "short block". This development is largely affected by the Ferrari experience obtained on track from racing models such as Competition 275P and 250LM.
