JAKARTA - A car manufacturer from China, namely Xpeng, officially launched the M03 model which will compete with the Tesla Model 3 in the local market.

Quoting from the CNevpost page, Thursday, August 28, this one car turned out to attract so much consumer interest, because after the official launch, it only took 52 minutes to reach an order figure of more than 10 thousand units.

The price is allegedly an attraction in itself, considering that it is much cheaper with the Tesla Model 3. This car comes in three variants ranging from 515, 620 and 580 Max and is priced from 119,800 yuan or around Rp258 million, while the highest variant is 155,800 yuan (Rp366 million).

This figure is certainly quite far apart from the Tesla Model 3 in China which is sold starting from 231,900 yuan or around Rp500 million, and the highest touched 335,900 yuan (Rp726 million).

In detail, this one car comes with a length of 4,780 mm, a width of 1,896 mm, and a height of 1,445 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,815 mm. Mona M03 is only powered by one motorbike and is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour within 7.8 seconds for entry and 7.4 seconds for two other variants.

The price of this model is also due to the use of smaller batteries, 51.8 kWh for entry variants and 62.2 kWh for two other variants. Both battery packages for Mona M03 are based on lithium iron phosphate chemicals, and the supplier is the Findreams Battery of BYD.

To gain a longer reach despite the relatively small battery pack, Xpeng optimized the Mona M03 design to provide a drag coefficient of 0.194 Cd, which the company says is the lowest in the world among bulk-produced electric hatchback sedans.
