JAKARTA - The BYD plant in Uzbekistan officially launched its first production vehicle in the country, the Song Plus DM-i Champion Edition model.

Quoting from the CNevpost page, Friday, June 28, the moment of the launch of the first production was witnessed directly by Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and BYD President Wang Chuanfu at the factory located in the Jizzakh area.

"ByD Song DM-i Champion Edition became the first production vehicle to launch on June 27," the company said in a statement on its Weibo account.

BYD President Wang Chuanfu said the launch of mass production at the BYD plant in Uzbekistan would accelerate environmentally friendly transformation into local transportation.

"In the future, BYD will encourage the development of the NEV industry in Central Asia with innovative technology," Wang said.

BYD also signed an environmentally friendly transportation cooperation initiative with the government of Uzbekistan yesterday, aimed at promoting sustainable mobility.

As is known, BYD Song Plus DM-i was founded based on the e-Platform 3.0 platform, and became one of the best-selling models in the Ocean BYD series.

For the Chinese market, the hybrid SUV is currently priced from the price range of 129,800-169,800 yuan or the range of IDR 298-383 million. With this price, of course, it is a good choice to be an option.

Previously, on December 30, 2022, BYD signed a cooperation agreement with local car manufacturers in Uzbekistan, namely Uzavtosanoat JSC (UzAuto) to establish a joint venture.

The first phase plant plans to produce two plug-in hybrid models Song Plus DM-i Champion Edition, and Chazor DM-i (Chaser 05 in China).

The first phase is expected to have an annual production capacity of 50,000 units to meet demand in the Central Asian market. Before starting local production, BYD had already sold the vehicles it exported to Uzbekistan.
