Toyota Mulai Buka Pre-Booking GR Corolla Di Ajang IIMS 2024

JAKARTA - For automotive lovers, of course, they are familiar with GR Corolla. Yes, this one car first started debuting in the country since August 2023 but there has been no official price release.

This time, at the prestigious Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2024 exhibition, PT Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM) gave news that it had officially opened the pre-booking of the Corolla GR for the Indonesian market.

"To present the DNA of Corolla, which has been present since 1966 combined with the experience of TGR which was full of victories at the global motorsport event, GR Corolla provided a remarkable race performance, amazed that looked at it, provided excitement and joy of GR for anyone behind its wheel, but still adequate for daily use," said Marketing Director of PT Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM), Anton Jimmi Suwandy, to the media crew, at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, Thursday, February 15..

He further revealed that, carrying the theme Untamed Energy, there are three missions that GR Corolla wants to achieve, namely the increasingly ever-better motorcycles-bred cars, the more sports cars that WOWs customers, and the bring back sports DNA to Corolla.

The price has not been officially announced, but Anton said, GR Corolla will be priced at around IDR 1.3 billion. For potential consumers, they can contact Toyota's official dealer network to get more information regarding the sales scheme.

As additional information, this GR Corolla car has a sporty design and maintains a classic hatchback layout. There are several interesting things that are presented in this car, including the front fascia section which is embedded with aluminum material on the engine hood, besides that the roof panel is made of a Carbon Fibre Reinforced Panel (CRFP) to reduce vehicle weight.

Regarding the heart of the runway, this one car is equipped with a turbo engine coded G16E-GTS, which is the same as that of GR Yaris. With the Toyota GAZOO Racing engine engineer, the 3-cylinder 1.618 cc cc with D-4ST & Port Injection technology can be upgraded.

With the engine above, GR Corolla is capable of vomiting peak power up to 295.8 dk at 6,500 rpm, with a torque of 370 Nm at 3,000-5,550 rpm. Toyota GR Corolla is claimed to be able to accelerate 0-100 km/hour within 5.3 seconds and the maximum speed is limited to 230 km/hour.
