Omoda 5 GT Enters Australian Market But With More Affordable Prices

JAKARTA - Chery Omoda 5 has won high praise thanks to its charming design and satisfactory performance. Even so, this success did not make the Chinese company complacent, especially in the expansion of the global market, with one of the markets it focuses on is Australia.

The manufacturer, which was founded in 1997, launched the latest edition of the Omoda 5 series, namely Omoda 5 GT, specifically for the Australian market. This car offers higher performance than previous variants, such as BX and EX.

Reported by Drive, Tuesday, January 9, this SUV is equipped with a 1.6 liter 4-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine capable of producing 137 kW of power and 275 Nm of torque, combined with a dual-clutch seven acceleration transmission.

Despite its higher performance, the Chery Omoda 5 GT still offers quite efficient fuel consumption, with a figure of 6.8 liters per 100 km. Although not as many as the previous two variants which reached 6.9 liters per 100 km for the front wheels and 7.4 liters per 100 km for the driving type of all wheels.

In terms of design, Omoda 5 GT still carries a design language that is typical of the Omoda 5 series, but the difference lies in the goal with orange accents and the "Omode" emblem which undergo changes to the front and back.

Turning to the price, the Chery Omoda 5 GT will be sold starting from USD 38,990 or around IDR 406.1 million for the front wheel drive variant, up to USD 41,490 or around IDR 432.2 million for the driving variant of all wheels, based on current exchange rate.

Even so, this price is still lower than the price in Indonesia. PT Chery Sales Indonesia (CSI) sells this vehicle at a price starting from IDR 448.8 million for the FWD variant and IDR 488.8 million for the AWD variant.
