JAKARTA - A rare Porsche 918 with a 'Weissach' package, designed entirely like a real racing car, is poised to enter the Sotheby's Sealed auction market.

The car comes up with a 'Psychedelic Design' color scheme and is coated with PTS Rosso Corsa paint, taking inspiration from the 1970 24 Hours Le Mans winning car, Porsche 917K, driven by Hans Herrmann and Richard Attwood.

Quoted from the auction house page on Friday, January 5, this car is equipped with white-painted magnesium rims, creating a distinctive Porsche roadster design that is striking. This color scheme is specially presented for the European market.

The 'Psychedelic Design' color scheme became an iconic pattern for Porsche, raising the racing spirit inherent in the brand. In the United States, two similar schemes of different colors are owned by Porsche customers.

What is interesting about the model with frame number 680 out of a total of 918 units produced is the use of Rosso Corsa's basic color, the basic color of the rival manufacturer, Ferrari. The inside is coated with Indian Red skin, creating an aggressive but charming impression.

This car is presented under new conditions, with a record use of less than 800 km from the first owner. Another specialty, this car was signed by Frank-Steffen Walliser, project manager 918 Spyder who is responsible for the development of this model. Ordered through the attractive Porsche Zentrum Bern in Switzerland, 918, it has remained well maintained at home since it first exited the factory in Zuffenhausen.

After being collected by the first owner at the factory, 918 remained well maintained at its current home in Switzerland, rarely used. Thus, the condition of the car remains prime both in terms of exterior and interior.

Speaking of performance, Porsche 918 'Weissach' carries the same engine as any other unit, with a 4.6 liter V8 powertrain that produces up to 875 dk of power, paired with an impressive seven-acceleration transmission.

This engine works in collaboration with a double electric motor with a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) system, allowing this roadster to run with pure electric power from a 6.8 kWh battery, with a range of up to 19 km.

The car will be auctioned off on January 17 in Geneva, Switzerland, with an estimated price ranging from 1.65 million to 2 million Swiss Franc, equivalent to IDR 30 billion to IDR 36 billion.
