The Latest GTI Golf VW Launches In Malaysia, The Price Is Cheaper Than Indonesia

JAKARTA - Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM), as the distributor of VW vehicles in Malaysia, started in early 2024 by presenting the latest GTI Mk8 Golf model.

Reporting from the paultan, Tuesday, January 2, the outside of the hot hatch is no different from the previous one which was equipped with an 18-inch 'Richmond' rim and an LED headlights with a more dynamic sein.

The inside also features standard equipment, such as a three-zone temperature controller, a 10-inch Media Discover infotainment system compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch instrument cluster, and a Vienna leather seat.

The latest thing at the GTI Golf is the premium Harman Kardon 10-peaker sound system, a refreshed head-up display, and a redesigned windshield that adjusts the driver's visibility. The latest IQ.Drive feature is also improved and added advanced LEG inset fog lights.

The IQ.Drive system is presented with several additional features, such as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Side Assist with Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Front Assist or Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), and Emergency and Lane Assist.

However, these changes do not cover the heart of the runway which still maintains a 2.0 liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with a power of 245 ps and a torque of 370 Nm. This impressive performance is combined with a dual coupling transmission (DCT) of seven accelerations connected to the front wheel driving system.

Speaking of price, this sports hatchback sells for 252,990 ringgit or around Rp. 845.7 million in Malaysia, without inserting an insurance package, but is equipped with a five-year warranty. This price is quite significantly cheaper when compared to the Indonesian market, where the price tag reached Rp. 1.2 billion.
