Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary Edition Ready To Be Auctioned, Predicted To Reach IDR 8 Billion

JAKARTA - Lamborghini, an automotive manufacturer that has existed since 1963, continues to express its superiority in creating supercars with striking designs loved by global automotive enthusiasts, one of which is through the iconic model, Countach.

Introduced for the first time in 1974, Lamborghini Countach immediately attracted attention with its unique design combined with extraordinary performance. One of the rare units of this model will now enter the auction market through RM Sotheby, becoming a collection item that is very desirable for these brand lovers.

Based on information from the RM Sotheby page, Thursday, December 28, the unit that will be auctioned is not an ordinary Countach, but an issue of the 25th anniversary of the founding of Lamborghini, produced in 1988. This car is considered the most extreme edition of all Countach variants.

The privilege of this car lies in the increase in aerodynamics developed by Horacio Pagani, the founder of the Pagani brand. In addition, this Countach is supported by a 5.2 liter V12 engine capable of delivering this car to its highest speed of up to 294 km/hour.

This car is very special because it is only produced in limited quantities, which is as many as 657 units. This unit to be auctioned comes in Rosso color. Previously, this car was owned by one of the owners in California and Texas before changing ownership to Lamborghini fan Mark McCloskey in Missouri in 1999.

Since being owned by McCloskey, the car has covered a distance of 15,430 km. Under McCloskey's ownership, the car is undergoing special care by Lamborghini repair company Evans Automotive Repair in Ohio. Some improvements were made, including reshuffle of transmission, engine demolition, as well as repair of lubrication and cooling systems.

Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary Edition is also undergoing repainting, replacing the hose, and updating the rubber seal that is prone to damage. The front bumper also experienced an update.

The car will be auctioned off by RM Sotheby in Arizona, USA, on January 25, 2024, with an estimated price of between 450,000 and 550,000 US dollars or around Rp. 6.9 billion to Rp. 8.4 billion.
