JAKARTA - In addition to the SUV, small double cabin pickup cars are now an attractive option for vehicle users around the world, especially in Latin America. This prompted Nissan to immediately introduce one of its models in the region.

Reporting from Top Gear Philippines, Thursday, December 28, this Japanese manufacturer has ambitions to control the compact pickup market there and announce that they are developing a model with the appropriate design.

Makoto Uchida, CEO of Nissan, stated that his party will take advantage of the partnership with Renault, which previously launchedā–matahari, and will use the basis of the model.

"Nissan will provide our tested expertise in a one-ton pickup, Nissan Frontier, to support Renault in increasing production in Argentina," Uchida said.

RenaultTY is a model of concept that carries a mid-hybrid driving technology with electric motors at the front and rear. For Nissan's version, it is likely that this pickup will use a well-known e-Power system efficient in fuel use.

This car will use the latest generation CMB-F platform which will also be used in the latest Kicks model. Nonetheless, the company is not yet willing to disclose the launch date of this model.

Nissan also has not confirmed whether this product will be sold in markets other than Latin America. Even so, the Nissan-Mitsubishi-Renault alliance affirms its commitment to expanding the reach of their respective models to the Asian region and Oceania.
