JAKARTA - Suzuki officially started sales of the All-New Swift model in Japan on December 13 for the CVT model and January 17 2024 for the 5MT. Previously, this car was displayed at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show international exhibition.

The hatchback is designed for daily mobility in urban areas. In addition to improved design and driving performance, the new Swift offers enhanced safety and comfort features.

According to the manufacturer's official release on Wednesday, December 6, the exterior features a rounded shape that envelops the entire car, creating a sophisticated image and pursuing style that evokes personality and driving performance.

The design shift seen on the outside maintains the design language of the preview version of the Swift into the production version where the placement of the rear door handle returns to its original position, no longer at the top of the C-pillar side as on the previous model. The rear of the latest Swift is more elongated with a sloping top like a coupe, but the characteristic upright C pillar is maintained.

Entering the inside, Suzuki combines conventional elements with a modern touch. A newer analog speedometer is paired with a 9-inch tablet in the center of the dashboard to enhance the intuitive display.

This latest Swift will be part of Suzuki's line of electrified cars with mild-hybrid technology. Although engine specifications have not been revealed in detail, it is known that this car will use a 1.2 liter Z12E 3-cylinder engine.

In terms of safety, the latest Swift is equipped with Dual Sensor Brake Support II which combines millimeter wave radar and a monocular camera. Other safety features include Adaptive Cruise Control, Brake Hold Function with Electronic Parking Brakes, Lane Keep Assist, and Adaptive High Beam System.

Another advanced technology embedded is the Driver Monitoring System, which can recognize the driver's face and provide a warning if fatigue or unfocused vision is detected.

Apart from Japan, the latest Suzuki Swift is scheduled to arrive on the global market in 2024.
