MG Cyberster First Present In The Philippines, Indonesia?

JAKARTA - A surprise was presented by Morris Garage (MG) towards the end of 2023. The British manufacturer presents a Cyberster, a roadster-style EV model, in the Philippines. Thus, the car will color the competition for environmentally friendly vehicles in the country.

Reporting from Top Gear Philippines, Monday, December 4, the manufacturer brought a production version model from Cyberster to the Philippines. They also confirmed that this car will be available for its units in the first quarter of 2024.

With the support of the new electrical architecture, the car shows a posture of 178.5 inches long from front to back and 75.3 inches wide. Because the battery is large, the MG Cyberster weighs significantly, reaching 1850 kg.

The soft-top electric car, which has a scissors door, was designed by former Scuderia Ferrari engineer Marco Fianello. MG Cyberster has a typical proportion of European convertible cars. In the form of a true classic roadster, it comes with a traditional soft top, not a metal folding roof mechanism that produces heavier weight.

The MG Cyberster interior is a modern and contemporary work of art. The central and dashboard consoles create cabins that really prioritize the driver experience. Elegant skin details and large infotainment screen dominate the cabin.

Striking electric scissors door is one of the flagship features of MG Cyberster and is increasingly beautifying this attractive package. For addition, there is also a Yoke type steering wheel.

Cybersters are presented in dual-motor and single-motor types. For dual electric motors, this car can power up to 536 dk and torque 725 Nm, thus making the car go from 0 to 100 km/hour in less than 3 seconds. This car is powered by a 77 kWh battery capable of traveling up to 580 km in a single charge.

Meanwhile, the single electric motor variant produces up to 310 dk of power with a battery with a capacity of 64 kWh, offering a dynamic and satisfying driving experience.

Even though they are already present in the Philippines, MG does not want to reveal the price. It is estimated that the roadster will be priced under 3 million pesos or equivalent to Rp. 839.7 million.

What about Indonesia? MG Motor Indonesia has a plan to take this car to Indonesia, although the announcement date and launch have not been revealed in the near future.
