BMW Affirms M3 Names To Survive Even In EV Form

JAKARTA - Recently, BMW reportedly proposed a trademark for one of its newest models. The model is M3 which will be electrified as the name iM3.

It was also stated that the German manufacturer submitted the name application to the EU Intellectual Property Office. However, they denied the news.

Frank Van Meel, as CEO of BMW M, insists that the best M3 name will never be combined with the letter i, although later the model will turn into an EV.

Van Meel explained that the model developed by the M division is not only about technology, but prioritizes performance and pleasure in driving. Although, the model will be EV.

'Model M is not a matter of technology. It's about a promise, it's about motorsport, it's about emotion. It's not just about driving it," Van Meel continued.

However, the electricity version of M3 information is still kept secret. It is likely that the model will be based on the Neue Classe developed by BMW and will enter production in the next few years.

On paper, the car will have a devastating power of up to 1,341 dk thanks to the quads embedded in it. The German manufacturer is working to present a version of the double electric motor for rear-wheel drive fans.
