MG4 EV Reportedly Coming Soon To Malaysia Market

JAKARTA - After successfully launching in the Indonesian market, the MG4 EV will soon enter the Malaysian market in the near future. Several photos circulating show the presence of this model on the streets of the neighboring country.

Reporting from Paultan, Friday, November 24, a car also known as MG4 Mulan was caught on camera undergoing trials on the highway. Most likely, the unit being tested is the lowest trim, as can be seen from the rim which has one color finishing. Even so, the design of the headlights and the back still carries the same look as other versions.

Although the specifications of the vehicle have not been officially disclosed, the MG4 Electric, known in Thailand, will be equipped with 170 PS electric motors and a 250 Nm torque mounted on the back.

In the Thai market, this model is equipped with a 51 kWh battery that supports AC charging of up to 4.4 kW and DC fast charging of up to 88 kW. Fast charging allows battery power to reach 10-80% within 35 minutes. Charging overnight via wallbox takes about 8.5 hours for full charging. This gives up to 400 km by WLTP cycle.

In Thailand, this model is available in two variants, namely D and X. Variant D, as the lowest variant, is sold at a price of 869,000 baht or around Rp. 380.8 million, while variant X is priced at 969,000 baht or around Rp. 424.6 million.

Meanwhile in Indonesia, MG4 EV comes in two variants, Ignite and Magnify, with prices ranging from Rp649.9 million to Rp699.9 million on the road in Jakarta.

Although the price is quite high, considering that this model is a Completely Built-Up (CBU) imported, MG Motor Indonesia ensures that MG4 EV will be produced locally in Indonesia starting in early 2024.
