83-year-old Pickup Truck Voted as the Most Beautiful Pickup Truck in the World

JAKARTA - It's no secret that Americans love the most pickup trucks in the world. Pickup truck sales in the US have always been strong, with manufacturers continually bringing out special editions every year.

Reporting from Carbuzz, September 18, the new Grand National Truck Show exhibition taking place in California September 16-17 2023 was attended by 200 pickup trucks and their owners, while 20 custom vans (built in the 1970s and 1980s) were also on display. However, what is the center of attention at this event is the selection of "2023 World's Most Beautiful Truck".

There were more than 17 custom pickup trucks, ranging from early models to the newest pickup trucks competing, but the 1940 Ford pickup truck was the champion and was entitled to take home a prize of 12,500 US dollars or around IDR 192 million.

This 1940 Ford pickup truck was the predecessor or forerunner of the current F-150, modified in detail by South City Rod & Custom and able to combine two of America's favorite automotive categories, namely trucks and hot-rodding.

The entire metal body is coated with sparkling Glasurit Ornament Green paint that looks new and shining. The curves of the body from the front to the shape of the bed are elegantly designed, also the grille on the hood and wheel covers covered in chrome and white tires are the perfect decoration for this neat custom truck.

This pickup truck, owned by Greg Tidwell, also has a powerful engine that matches its external beauty, equipped with a 6.3 liter "Extreme" engine from Smeding Performance with a power of 450 hp, this 83-year-old truck is capable of being as strong as an F-150 Raptor which is powered by a V6.

"The response to this event has been incredible. We were very impressed with the variety of trucks, SUVs, and vans that attended this first year's event. It's clear that people really love these trucks, and we couldn't have asked for a better way to starting this new event. I'm already very excited for next year," concluded John Buck, producer of the Grand National Truck Show.
