JAKARTA - Launched globally last June, Volvo EX30, is now officially present in Thailand as an option for sustainable, environmentally friendly and affordable luxury vehicles.

This car is imported (CBU) from China and for the Thai market is available in three different variants: Core Single Motor Extended Range, Ultra Single Motor Extended Range, and Ultra Twin Motor Performance.

The car is equipped with an 18-inch alloy rim, LED headlights, one-zone climate control system, adjustable front seat, and 12.3-inch mid-screen that controls multiple functions. Its infotainment system also supports connections with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The Single Motor Extended Range variant is equipped with a number of additional features that increase comfort, such as the Harman Kardon audio system, ambient lighting, 360-degree camera, Lane Change Alert, and a panoramic roof.

The first two variants, namely Core and Ultra Single Motor Extended Range, use an NMC battery containing lithium, nickel, manganese, and cobalt. This battery is more efficient than the LFP variant. This single-motor variant has a range of up to 480 km in one charge.

These two variants use a single motor with a power of 268 dk and a torque of 343 Nm, providing acceleration from 0 to 100 km/hour within 5.3 seconds, with the highest speed reaching 180 km/hour.

Meanwhile, the Ultra Twin Motor Performance variant uses two electric motors that produce a total power of 422 dk and a maximum torque of 543 Nm. This allows EX30 to reach speeds from 0 to 100 km/h within 3.6 seconds, with a distance of up to 460 km according to the WLTP cycle.

The price of the three variants is different. The Core variant is sold at an initial price of around 1.59 million baht or around Rp. 686 million. The Ultra Single Motor Extended Range variant is valued at around 1.79 million baht or around Rp. 772.5 million, while the highest variant is priced at around 1.89 million baht or around Rp. 815.5 million.
