JAKARTA - The 2023 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) is proof for several manufacturers who want to show off their newest models. One of them is a Japanese car manufacturer; Toyota presents Rangga.

One of the manufacturers showing the concept car in GIIAS 2023 is Toyota. Through the Brand Holder Agent (APM), PT Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM), they brought a concept pickup called "Rangga Concept".

Vice President of PT TAM, Henry Tanoto, said that the presence of the Rangga Concept was to continue the legacy of the Kijang Pick Up which had been legendary thanks to its ability and toughness which became the attraction of the community.

"Toyota presents a Rangga concept car to be able to continue the legacy of success from the iconic Kijang Pick Up which is known for its resilience and reliability, and is able to provide economical mobility solutions and according to the needs of business actors," said Henry Tanoto in his statement, Wednesday, August 16.

It was also stated that Toyota Rangga Concept would be able to revive the automotive industry of Tana Air as was done by Kijang Pick Up in the past.

The naming "Rangga" is taken from the Javanese language, namely "Ronggo", which means "hero or knight". With the embedding of the name, it is believed that this vehicle will be trusted as a strong and resilient vehicle.

In GIIAS 2023, Toyota also enlivened various versions of the Rangga Concept, ranging from Rangga Concept Mobile Café, Rangga Concept Ambulance, Rangga Concept EV Mobile Service, and Rangga Concept Pace Car. Thus, proving that this vehicle is capable of being used for various purposes for its owners.

The Concept Rangga is a pickup built on the GIIAS 2023 place, Toyota Indonesia Mobility Solution for All, by presenting an overview of various solutions through various conversions from Rangga Concept, the Form Innovative International Multi-Purpose Vehicle (IMV).

Although specifications have not been disclosed, TAM plans to launch it as a commercial vehicle to compete with Isuzu Traga.
