PKS Officially Declares Anies Baswedan As A Presidential Candidate In Today's Memory, 23 February 2023

JAKARTA Memories of today, two years ago, February 23, 2023, the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) officially declared Anies Baswedan as a presidential candidate in the upcoming 2024 presidential election. Anies was chosen because PKS considers him a national figure who is nationalist and religious.

Previously, Anies had a classy career. He was once a national education figure. He once served as Chancellor of Paramadina University. He also later became Minister of Education and Culture (Mendikbud). At its peak, he became the Governor of DKI Jakarta.

The world of politics has never lost its charm. Politics often encourages new people to enter it. Anies Baswedan, especially. At first Anies devoted himself to the world of education. He believes that education is a tool of change.

He was also able to be elected as Chancellor of Paramadina University. His presence is disturbing. He was able to do many breakthroughs. He presents many scholarships: Paramadina Scholarship. The scholarship allows Paramadina to have students from various corners of the archipelago.

Later Anies chose to swerve. He began to touch into the world of politics. His understanding increases. that politics is a perfect tool of change.

He participated in the Democratic Party presidential candidate convention in 2014. He failed to be elected. Anies was not discouraged. The opportunity to have a career in politics emerged through being the spokesman for the national winning team for presidential and vice-presidential candidates Joko Widodo and Jusuf Kalla (JK).

Ulam's beloved pinnacle arrives. Anies did his job well. He was then appointed as Minister of Education and Culture. His power as Minister of Education and Culture is short. However, that position made him taken into account in the national political map.

Anies also had the opportunity to advance as Governor of DKI Jakarta in 2017. Prabowo Subianto and the Gerindra Party supported him. Anies did not waste this opportunity. He was finally able to become the new Governor of DKI Jakarta.

Anies' career as an accomplished politician skyrocketed. Many have attracted to invite him to participate in the political contestation at the high level of the presidential election. Anies was invited by Prabowo to become his vice presidential candidate in the 2019 presidential election. The invitation came three times. However, Anies prefers to focus on being the Governor of DKI Jakarta.

The opportunity to appear in the presidential election emerged when his position as Governor of DKI Jakarta was over. Anies finally wanted to participate in the 2025 presidential election. PKS then saw that gap by declaring Anies as their presidential candidate in the presidential election at the PKS DPP Office, Jakarta on February 23, 2023.

Anies was chosen because of his famous nationalist and religious figure. Anies is also known as a figure who carries change. This condition made two other parties support Anies: Nasdem and Democrats. Even though the support map changed at the last second.
