The prohibition on the spread of communism, marxism, and leninism is also contained in Article 107 of Law Number 27 of 1999 concerning Amendments to the Criminal Code relating to Crime to State Security. The space for movement of the PKI and communism is considered not to develop.

However, former Chief of Staff of the Army Strategic Reserve Command (Kostrad) Major General (Ret.) Kivlan Zen has different views. He considers the PKI and communism to be a revival in the era of President Jokowi's administration.

Kivlan also repeatedly mentioned that the PKI was already present in the community. The issue of the rise of the PKI is increasingly being heard, even the sale of various communist-based attributes has begun to emerge. The new style of Communism emerged with methods of attracting old masses.

The method is the Three Forms of Struggle Method (MK TBP). A method that is able to touch farmers, laborers, ABRI, TNI, Polri, and civil servants. Kivlan also continued the accusations with the presence of PKI sympathizers in major Indonesian parties.

The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), especially. PDIP is considered to have accommodated many PKI sympathizers.

"No, PDIP (not PKI fragments), but a lot of houses. PDIP should be interesting, people like Eva Kusuma Sundari, Rieke Dyah Pitaloka, Budiman Sudjatmiko, he made the book, don't be included as a leader anymore," Kivlan said as quoted by the CNN Indoneisa page, March 6, 2016.

Kivlan's accusations made a scene throughout Indonesia. The government, which has not dealt with communism allegations for a long time, has been busy. The Minister of Home Affairs, Tjahjo Kumolo, spoke up on May 11, 2016. He considered the accusation not necessarily true.

He appealed to the Indonesian people to continue to be vigilant against the alleged new style of communism. Security forces must take firm action against those who spread the issue of communism rising.
