President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono Officially Released Two Positions In The Democratic Party In Today's Memory, April 21, 2013

JAKARTA Memories of today, 11 years ago, April 21, 2013, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) officially released two positions in the Democratic Party. The position is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees and the Chairman of the Honorary Council.

SBY only confirmed two positions, as General Chair (Ketum) and Chairman of the High Council. Previously, the Democratic Party had experienced a leadership vacuum. All because of the corruption scandal in the Democratic Party. SBY also tried to go down the mountain to take over the ketum seat.

The corruption scandal of the Democratic Party cadres was able to shock the whole of the archipelago. The general spirit of the party that often promotes anti-corruption campaigns has become the source of corruption. The flames of the scandal began with the presence of a plan for a project to build a training education center, and a large-scale sports facility in Bukit Hambalang, Bogor, West Java.

The project, which was later known as the Hambalang Project, turned out to be a corruption event. They were 'officials of the Democratic Party' with a large budget of Rp. 2.5 trillion. The irregularities began to be revealed. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) smells corruption.

The result was jarring. One by one, Democrat Party politicians were caught in corruption. In fact, the chairman of the Democratic Party, Anas Urbaningrum, is considered involved and he chose to resign from the Democratic Party. This condition disturbed the existence of the Democratic Party.

The leadership of the Democratic Party must be addressed immediately. However, it is not an easy matter to find party leaders. The Democratic Party elders also agreed to want SBY, who in fact as President of Indonesia as Chairman.

The intention was welcomed. SBY agreed. SBY was then appointed as the new chairman of the Democratic Party on March 30, 2013. The decision was made at the Extraordinary Democratic Party Congress in Bali. SBY tried to bring the Democratic Party back to existence in the political contestation in Indonesia.

"Considering that Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is the General Chair of the Democratic Party," said the chairman of the Assembly, Amir Syamsuddin at the Extraordinary Democratic Party Congress at Inna Grand Bali Beach Hotel, Sanur, Denpasar, Bali, as quoted by Antara, March 30, 2013.

Problems arise. SBY's new position as Chairman of the Democrats actually made him many concurrent positions in the party. Total SBY served four positions: Ketum, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Chairman of the Honorary Council, and Chairman of the High Council.

SBY also realized that he was unable to carry out all these positions. Moreover, he has the main job as Indonesia's number one person. This condition was brought together by all levels of the Democratic Party and was looking for the best solution for SBY.

Finally, SBY officially left two positions in the new Democratic Party structure on April 21, 2013. The position is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees and the Chairman of the Honorary Council. SBY only confirmed his position as chairman and chairman of the Democratic Party High Council.
