Crew Positive For COVID-19, Korean Drama Melancholia Postpones Release Date

JAKARTA - Bad news comes from the production of the Korean drama Melancholia. Sunday, October 31, several drama crews tested positive for COVID-19.

Melancholia's side stated, "After one of the production staff of COVID-19, all the cast and crew carried out a PCR test. Three other crew members were also diagnosed as positive for COVID-19 while the others were negative," reads a statement quoted from Xsportsnews.

To ensure a smooth production, tvN as a television channel postponed the broadcast of the first episode.

"We made this decision after reviewing the production situation so that viewers can enjoy a stable viewing experience," he continued.

The two main leads of Melancholia: Im Soo Jung and Lee Do Hyun also tested negative.

Melancholia tells the story of Ji Yoon Soo (Im Soo Jung), a math teacher who gets involved in a scandal with Baek Seung Yoo (Lee Do Hyun). Ji Yoon Soo gets fired from the school and doesn't meet Baek Seung Yoo.

Four years later they meet and work together to solve a scandal that dragged them both at school.

The first episode of Melancholia which was scheduled to air on November 3 will be postponed to November 10.
