Iko Uwais' Experience Of Filming Miles 22, Asked For Action Scenes Without Clothing

JAKARTA - Miles 22 is one of the Hollywood films starring Iko Uwais after his name went worldwide thanks to the film The Raid. Because of the film, Iko was asked to direct casting by Director Peter Berg.

Peter Berg has loved Iko Uwais' acting and fighting skills ever since he watched The Raid. When preparing for the Mile 22 project, he immediately invited Iko Uwais to join. Peter Berg at that time contacted Iko Uwais for a meeting in Los Angeles.

While filming, Peter Berg said that the fight scene in the infirmary was inspired by the film Eastern Promises. In the film, actor Viggo Mortensen is depicted fighting naked.

Peter Berg and Mark Wahlberg had teased Iko Uwais to do this exact scene. In reality, Iko was fighting not completely naked, but still wearing panties.

If you watch Mile 22, there are many dialogues in Indonesian to match the character of Li Noor, played by Iko. The dialogue was inserted impromptu during filming. To include it, Iko became the translator of the scenario into Indonesian.

The film Mile 22 tells the story of a CIA agent, James Silva (Mark Wahlberg) assisted by a secret tactical command unit assigned to smuggle a cop named Li Noor (Iko Uwais).

Li Noor, played by Iko Uwais is a key witness or important informant, from the city center to the plane that was waiting for him at the airport. The distance they travel from the city center to the airport is 22 miles.
