JAKARTA - The original Squid Game series is still being talked about since it was released last week. The series became so popular that it ranked first on Netflix in the United States.

Unfortunately the popularity of Squid Game is accompanied by controversy. The most recent is someone who claimed to have lost because his number appeared on the series. What is it?

Squid Game tells the story of a competition in which a group of people compete to win millions of won. On the other hand, their lives were at stake if they did not successfully complete the mission.

In one episode, a business card is given to a potential contestant. They had to dial the number to be invited to the game.

Quoting Koreaboo today, September 23, for Korean phone numbers, the first three digits consist of the area code of the city so that if the eight digits are provided without the area code, the phone can be connected automatically if you are in that area.

In the series, the production team displays eight digits without removing the first three digits. The problem is this number is a user's number. This makes the owner of the number feel disturbed because he gets a message and is contacted by many people.

“After Squid Game went live, I kept getting calls and messages, 24/7, until I was having a hard time going about my day. It's a number I've used for more than 10 years, so I was surprised," said the owner of this number.

He explained that more than 4000 unknown numbers call every day and even night so that the battery drains faster.

"At first, I didn't know why but my friend told me that my number appeared in the Squid Game and that's where I realized."

Launching MoneyToday, Netflix and Siren Pictures are currently resolving this issue.
