After BTS, Fitri Carlina Becomes The Second Asian Artist To Appear In New York's Times Square

JAKARTA - Fitri Carlina performed in New York at Times Square, New York City, United States on September 9. This dangdut performance was held as part of the Indopop Movement event for the launch of the New York Dangdut Cafe.

Fitri shared some of her memories in New York via Instagram. "Dangdut rocked Times Square, New York. Thank God, I never dreamed of being able to bring Dangdut to rock in the heart of New York City (Times Square). But, We Made It. This is for Indonesia," wrote Fitri Carlina on the account @fitricarlina.

During the event, Fitri Carlina performed a number of dangdut songs, including her big hit, ABG Tua. She also sang Maumere's song which was greeted by the lively swaying of the audience below the stage. Her appearance was also accompanied by a number of cross-country singers.

The Indopop Movement concert made a special achievement for Fitri Carlina and her Indonesian colleagues who were involved in the event. Because the only Asian artist performing at the event was BTS, a boy band from South Korea.

Fitri Calina's performance with her colleagues at Indopop Movement is the second appearance by Asian artists in New York at Times Square after BTS.
